Not an Encouraging Morning — I've looked over the transcript for today's morning session, and can make a few comments. The genius of the Roberts nomination — I have to confess that John Roberts leaves me unmoved. I neither love him nor hate him, and I still don't think I have a strong feel for the man. If I had to guess, I'd say he'll be a technician-with-a-heart in the mold of the second Justice Harlan, but that's only a guess.
