Snow on Foley Scandal: 'Simply Naughty Emails'  —  This morning on CNN, Soledad O'Brien asked Tony Snow why "any communication between a 16-year-old and a congressman" didn't "raise red flags — major, massive red flags" with Speaker Dennis Hastert and others who have known about the communications for months.

The GOP Record  —  The roots of Republican failures in Congress.  —  The 109th Congress has gone home to fight for re-election, and the best testament to its accomplishments is that very few Republicans are running on them.  They're running instead against the peril to the country if the Nancy Pelosi Democrats take power.

Several incumbent Republicans trailing with five weeks until election  —  NEW YORK - Five weeks out from the midterm elections, MSNBC/McClatchy polls, conducted by Mason-Dixon in eight states, show Democrats are in striking distance of taking control of the Senate.

Frist says U.S. can't win, should bring Taliban into Afghan government  —  The Commissar has decided to vote Democratic this fall.  —  Why not?  What's the difference? … Yep.  That'll solve it.  —  Update: If we're going to do this, just pull everyone out.

WHY I AM VOTING DEMOCRATIC IN 2006  —  I have decided to vote Democratic this fall.  —  I am a conservative and a Republican party member.  I believe in small government, free markets, strong defense, etc., but Bush's snafu in Iraq is just too much.  It overwhelms those issues which for 30 years have made me vote GOP.

Students Killed by Gunman at Amish Schoolhouse  —  A lone gunman walked into a one-room schoolhouse in a largely Amish community in southeastern Pennsylvania today and shot as many as 10 girls, killing three immediately and then turned the gun on himself, dying at the scene, according to the state police.
