I-35W bridge collapses  —  The Interstate Hwy. 35W bridge over the Mississippi River collapsed during the evening rush hour Wednesday, dumping at least eight cars and a truck into the water and onto the land below, creating a horrific scene of damage, fire, smoke, injuries, frantic rescuers and terrified motorists.

At Least 6 Dead In I-35W Bridge Collapse  —  The bridge features an anti-ice system which is a series of PVC pipes that carry a deicer fluid to outlets that are drilled into the deck of the bridge.  When the temperature for ice is right, the deicer fluid is pumped onto the bridge deck.
