Driving Mr. Romney  —  I FIRST met Mitt Romney at a Lincoln Day dinner in 1994, during the earliest days of his failed Senate race against Ted Kennedy.  The next weekend, I was helping him to collect the signatures he needed to get on the ballot for the Republican primary.

And The First Exit Polls in Michigan Say...  I'm surprised no one else has put this up yet.  I'm hearing the first round of exit polls have Romney 35, McCain 29, Huckabee 15, Ron Paul 10, Giuliani 4.  This doesn't count absentee ballots.  —  If this holds, the networks will be able to announce shortly after 9 p.m. eastern time...

Wow.  —  I'm on the radio this morning.  For the last thirty minutes, I've been talking about the Clinton v. Obama race war.  This isn't a new topic, but something very interesting happened.  —  Mayor C. Jack Ellis, the recently term limited out of office Mayor of Macon, GA, called in the show.

Finally: Fred hits McCain; Update: Fred hits McCain again  —  Not with an uppercut but a good straight jab.  It would have been more effective if he'd gone after him individually instead of lumping him in with Huck but the race being what it is in South Carolina, he doesn't have much choice.

Banned at The DoJ  —  We here at TPM get hundreds of emails each day, ranging from reader emails to press releases.  And it took me a while to notice that on October 10th of last year, the Justice Department stopped sending us their releases.  We had been on their list for well more than a year.
