What Palin Will Do Tonight  —  I've been talking to a member of the McCain/Palin team this morning about what to expect from Palin's speech to the convention tonight.  These speeches often feature a lot of biographical material, introducing an unknown candidate to the world.

A Clear and Present Danger To the American Left  —  Notes from the convention:  —  Drafts of John McCain's acceptance speech have been bopping around the inside of the campaign for at least a few days, and a question is whether or how much it will be changed to account for the hurricane in New Orleans and the Gulf coast.

Website with Speeches and Sermons from Palin's Former Church Shuts Down as Religious Views of Candidate Face Scrutiny  —  Officials of Gov. Sarah Palin's former church, Wasilla Assembly of God, in Alaska, shut down part of their website Wednesday, stating that their server could not handle the higher-than-normal traffic.

A Shameful Week for the Press  —  I have always tended to think that conservative complaints about the media are a little exaggerated.  There are occasionally obvious instances of bias and clear examples of a double standard, but most reporters don't want to fall into those and some conservatives are surely too sensitive to them.

CHOREOGRAPHY  —  Since there is widespread agreement that the children of candidates should not become topics of campaign debate, it behooves us to note that the McCain campaign has almost singlehandedly made Sarah Palin's daughter a central figure in the Republican convention.
