On Journolist, and Dave Weigel  —  I began Journolist in February of 2007.  It was an idea born from disagreement.  Weeks, or maybe months, earlier, I had criticized Time's Joe Klein over some comments he made about the Iraq War.  He e-mailed a long and searching reply, and the subsequent conversation was educational for us both.

Weigel and the Post  —  The current flap over Washington Post blogger Dave Weigel has its roots in a fact that suprised me when I learned of it earlier this year: The Post appears to have hired Weigel, a liberal blogger, under the false impression that he's a conservative.

E-mails reveal Post reporter savaging conservatives, rooting for Democrats  —  Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh famously said he hoped President Obama would “fail” in January, 2009.  Almost a year later, when Limbaugh was rushed to the hospital with chest pains, Washington Post reporter David Weigel had a wish of his own.

The Culture of Exposure  —  The most interesting part of my job is that I get to observe powerful people at close quarters.  Most people in government, I find, are there because they sincerely want to do good.  But they're also exhausted and frustrated much of the time.

An Unhappy Day At The Washington Post  —  But also sort of a happy day at The Washington Post, for the dwindling band of writers and editors there who value such old-fashioned traits as temperance in the expression of personal views; forthrightness; and fairness.
