D.C. protestors wave Confederate flag, tell Obama to “put the Quran down”  —  Anti-Obama sentiment abounded at a Sunday morning rally  —  About 200 people, counting among their ranks Republican Senator Mike Lee, Senator Ted Cruz and former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin, converged on D.C.'s World War II memorial Sunday morning.

Crowd Heckles Cops at White House: ‘Brown Shirts,’ ‘Looks Like Something Out of Kenya’  —  As we reported earlier, a protest that started at the World War II Memorial ended up in front of the White House, where protesters piled up barricades that had been used to keep people out of the memorial during the government shutdown.

Rage & Performance Art  —  In case you missed the day's events, while high level negotiations sputtered on, a Tea Party rally including Sen. Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin succeeded in capturing some of the essence of the political world the rejectionist rump of the GOP is now inhabiting in scenes reminiscent of 2009's Summer of Teh Crazy.
