Ebola hits New York  —  Police officers leave the apartment of Dr. Craig Spencer (left) in West Harlem.  —  Dr. Craig Spencer, a local doctor who has treated Ebola patients, now has the disease himself.  —  The doctor is a physician attached to New York-Presbyterian Hospital who is now in Bellevue.

The Real Party of the Rich  —  The Democrats' three big weapons: money, money, money.  —  Democratic senator Kay Hagan of North Carolina was pounded last winter and spring in TV ads by conservative groups for having voted for Obamacare and echoed President Obama's false claim that people could keep their current health insurance.

The Democrats' Closing Argument Needs to Be J-O-B-S  —  There's still time for the Democrats to put GOP opponents on the defensive by saying “I want to rebuild America, and my opponent doesn't.”  —  As Democrats mutter privately that their Senate majority is sinking beneath the waves, their leadership has sent out an SOS.

How Independents Could Seize Control of the Senate  —  As the bulk of close election observers have pointed out, the odds favor the Republicans capturing enough Senate seats to make a majority next year.  Of course, it is not a certainty (to any except the election modelers at The Monkey Cage).
