How Labour Lost the Culture War  —  Yesterday's general election in the United Kingdom was a triumph for Brexit and Prime Minister Boris Johnson—and an unmitigated disaster for the Labour Party and its far-left leader, Jeremy Corbyn.  —  On paper, the conditions were ripe for a Labour victory.

Populist nationalism is on the march.  No one seems to know how to stop it.  —  Once upon a time — in the days of Margaret Thatcher and John Major — I would have rejoiced in a Conservative Party landslide in Britain.  But now, Prime Minister Boris Johnson's victory fills me with fear and foreboding.

This general election result is nothing short of a catastrophe for the Labour Party, for London and for the United Kingdom.  —  For the fourth general election in a row the Labour Party has failed to put forward a compelling case to the British people.  It is no consolation that we performed so much better here in London.

All Shall Gaze Upon the Future—and Despair  —  The warning from Britain.  —  Amazingly, the coveted AOC endorsement of Jeremy Corbyn's Labour party failed to flip the British election.  Who knew that a passionate and aggressive leftward turn would prove to be political poison?
